Michelle Jacquet Branch was born seven weeks early on July 2, . She lived the first 11 years of her life in Flagstaff, AZ. Michelle has been singing since she could talk "For as long as inom can remember, and from what my family recalls, I was always singing."-Michelle Branch. She was 3 when she started singing and her parents decided to man a tejp of her singing her favorite songs to send to her sang with perfect pitch though she didn't know most of the words. She decided to write her own songs coz she thought her words were better.

Michelle loves watching musicals like "Oklahoma" and "The Sound Of Music". She wanted to be a Broadway star when she grows up. She then thought of becoming a pop star after seeing a New Kids on the Block concert. She had röst lessons at Northern Arizona University when she was 8.
