Amlan Das is an Odia actor mostly viewed in Ollywood films and advertisements. He is the son of Famous Odia actor Mihir Das. He started his career just after completing his graduation in 2013.[1][2]
Biography
[edit]Amlan was born as the elder son of Mihir Das and Sangita Das at Cuttack. He completed his schooling and college at DAV school, CDA. Cuttack joined for his graduation in the Sivaji Ganesan Film Institute of SRM Institute of Science and Technology located in Chennai. In 2013 he completed his graduation and started his film career in the movie Target with direction from SK Muralidharan. But his first performance failed to attract a wider audience. He grew in popularity after appearing in Tu Mo Dehara Chhai but later on he failed to impress the Odia viewers with his performance. He failed to increase his popularity and audience attention due to continuous flop movies.[3][4][5]

New Delhi: Veteran Odia actor Mihir Das passed away on Tuesday and was 55-year-old. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack, according to the latest reports.
Reportedly, the Ollywood actor was battling kidney ailments for past few years.
He had worked for more than three decades and also bagged best actor award for his films- 'Laxmi Protima' in 1998 and 'Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni' in 2005.
Soon after the tragic incident, his friends and industry colleagues took to social media to mourn his untimely demise.
Deeply saddened to know about the untimely demise of veteran Odia Actor Mihir Das.

Bhubaneswar: Mihir Das was an Odia film industry veteran who passed away at the age of 62 at a private hospital in Cuttack. Das had received several awards, notably Best Actor for his films Laxmi Pratima in 1998 and Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni in 2005 and Best Supporting Actor award for his films Rakhi Bandhili Mo Rakhiba Mana in 2002 and Prema Adhei Akhyara from the Odisha state government.
Das was born in Mayurbhanj on 11 February 1959. He was married to singer and film artist Sangita Das, who died in 2010 due to heart attack. She was the daughter of the popular singer, Chitta Jena. Mihir Das and Sangita Das have a son, Amlan Das who is also an actor.
