NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF AFGHANISTAN PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA
Nasir Ahmad Andisha, the new Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Andisha had been serving as Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan since September He served as the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Australia, and concurrently to New Zealand and Fiji, from August to August He was posted at the uppdrag of Afghanistan to the United Nations in New York from May to August to attend the annual conference of the Economic and Social Council.

Dr. Nasir A. Andisha Biography
Dr. Nasir A. Andisha is a highly accomplished diplomat and academic from Afghanistan. He
has served in a number of high-level positions within the Afghan government, including as
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the UN in Geneva, Deputy
Foreign Minister for Management and Resources, and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic
of Afghanistan to the Commonwealth of Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Fiji. He
was appointed as Ambassador at the age of 32, making him the youngest Ambassador in
Afghanistan Foreign Service at the time.
Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, Dr. Andisha served as the Director General of the
Fifth Political Division (US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) and the Director of
Multilateral Economic Relations and International Financial Institutions. He also worked as a
consultant at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels and briefly served at the Permanent
Mission of Afghanistan at the U.N
