Jacob Koshy grew up in Singapore with one driving ambition: to be a success in life, to gain all the money and possessions he could. That led him into the world of drugs and gambling, and eventually he became the lord of an international smuggling network. In 1980, he was arrested and placed in a government drug rehabilitation prison in Singapore.
He was frustrated beyond endurance. All his goals, purposes, dreams, and ambitions were locked up with him in a tiny cell, and his heart was full of a cold emptiness. He was a smoker, and cigarettes weren’t allowed in the center. Instead, he smuggled in tobacco and rolled it in the pages of the Gideon Bible. One day he fell asleep while smoking. He awoke to find to find that the cigarette had burned out, and all that remained was a scrap of charred paper. He unrolled it and read what was written; “Saul, Saul Why do you persecute me?”

August 28th – Help, I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!
As we arrived at New Life Church (Avadi, in Chennai) the service had already started and so we were ushered inside. As we walked through the entrance we came across about 200 plastic chairs under a roof all facing the front and the place was already fairly full. Then I realised that this was just the overflow. When we walked into the main church building the room was packed with over 400 people. After the service I discovered that there was a meeting room directly above us, of the same size, which was also full of people since the service was relayed up there through TV screens. So, all up, there must have been somewhere between 700-1000 people there. And that was only one of four services today. Pastor Jacob Koshy estimates that, if everyone who attends New Life Church turned up together there would be about 7500!
It was such a privilege to preach in this lively service. The atmosphere was relaxed

Justice Jacob Benjamin Koshy was born on 13 May 1947 to Mr. Koshy who was then Principal of the Brickfield Higher Secondary School in Malaysia. Justice Jacob Benjamin Koshy is the chairman of Kerala Human Rights kommission. He was Chief Justice of Patna High Court.[1] Justice Koshy was appointed Acting ledare Justice of the Kerala High Court following the elevation of Chief Justice H.L. Dattu as Supreme Court Judge. Appointed as Permanent Judge in 1996, Mr. Koshy was the Executive Chairman of the Kerala State Legal Services Authority.[2]
