Francesco De Gregori is the third studio album of the homonymous Italian singer-songwriter, released in 1974 by RCA.
The album, containing eleven songs written entirely by Francesco De Gregori, is generally known as “Album della pecora” (sheep album), or simply “La pecora” (sheep), due to the cover image, designed by Gordon Faggetter (ex-drummer of Cyan Three, and Patty Pravo’s boyfriend at the time).
It is generally considered, as far as the lyrics are concerned, the most hermetic album by Francesco De Gregori; the singer-songwriter declared in 1976 that he considered this his worst album: «After signing the contract with RCA, we are in ’74, I made the album with Pecora, which in my opinion is the worst album I made».
