    EAGLE RIVER – Yellows and reds popped in the North Woods canopy on Thursday around Kentuck Lake.

    The colors lit up the view on a spectacular autumn Wisconsin day.

    They had to compete, though, with a perpetual source of Badger-born brightness gathered at the lake's shore.

    Joe Bucher, 65, of Eagle River had come to Kentuck to assist with the filming of a cable fishing show that honors military veterans.

    In his typical manner, Bucher didn't allow any "dead air" during his time with the crew and guests. He filled it all with the upbeat, can-do attitude that has epitomized his life and career.
